Unfortunately, faulty waste in press containers can cause fires. 
Due to the increasing connection of press containers to buildings, there is of course the danger that a fire will spread to adjacent buildings. 

Safety is a priority at PÖTTINGER

As the problem of fire in press containers seems to be a reoccuring one in the waste disposal industry, PÖTTINGER press containers will be equipped with a fire extinguishing system as a standard from September 2020.

The fire extinguishing system will be a standard in the models MP 1.0/1.4/1.9, MP ECO, MSC and the docking container, depending on the model with a pipe or water inlet. 
Fire extinguishing system enables operators and the fire department to prevent the fire to spread to buildings and objects nearby and to suspend the fire to the press chamber.

The fire extinguishing system is positioned in the front of the container. The hose fitting through a Storz-connection makes a hose attachement possible to flood the container with water. The container doesn't have to be opened or moved. 

For the Storz connection many adpater pieces are available to connect different types of hoses.
